He gave me a necklace for Christmas and he wrote me a note saying he really likes me, but im kind of interested in someone else.

Id rather send him a message on myspace because it would be easier for me.

Puh-lease DO NOT take the easy way out. That's just plain rude and bad taste. If you are going to talk to guys you are going to have to get used to letting some of them down easy.

You need to either do it over the phone or face to face. Face to face is preferable, but the phone will do better then Myspace. That would just suck.

Just kept it short, sweet and simple. Just say that you were very flattered by his gift but you don't feel you should accept it because you are currently seeing someone and you are hoping it will get more serious and it's not fair to him for you to give him false hope.

Just be nice and say your are sorry for the situation but never apologize for being honest with someone about where they stand in your life. As long as you are honest, never ever apologize for that.

On a positive note at least you were willing, no matter how tacky (myspace), to be honest about the situation. It's more then a lot of people would do.

Well, to be honest it is a selfish and shallow thing to do it over myspace. While it may be hard for you, it will be twice as hard (depending on how much he likes you) for him to swallow. Therefore, it is like a slap to his injuries. I think you really need to consider - are you doing this to be easy on yourself, or easy on the lad who likes you?

If it is not the second, I don't think you need to be liking anyone, because it sounds like your not being kind to someone you KNOW likes you...not to mention a guy who you yourself likes, what if that person you like did the same thing to you, would YOU be upset? Ask yourself that question, and there is your answer.
